    Job description

    We are seeking an experienced Asset-Based Logistics Operations & Dispatch Specialist to support day-to-day transportation and logistics operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in an asset-based trucking environment, managing company-owned trucks and drivers, and coordinating daily dispatch operations.

    This role combines dispatch, Track & Trace, customer service, and operational support. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing loads from pickup to delivery, communicating with drivers and customers, monitoring shipments, and providing coverage for both Dispatch and Track & Trace functions as needed.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Dispatch and coordinate company-owned trucks and drivers within an asset-based transportation operation.

    • Plan and manage daily routes, schedules, pickups, and deliveries.

    • Assign loads to drivers and ensure timely and efficient execution of transportation operations.

    • Monitor active shipments and provide Track & Trace coverage as required.

    • Maintain regular communication with drivers regarding load status, ETAs, delays, and operational issues.

    • Track inbound and outbound shipments and proactively communicate updates or exceptions.

    • Serve as a point of contact for customers regarding orders, shipments, delivery status, and operational questions.

    • Schedule and coordinate pickup and delivery appointments with customers, warehouses, and other parties.

    • Enter and maintain accurate load, shipment, and customer information in transportation and warehouse systems.

    • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure orders are received, processed, staged, and shipped accurately.

    • Respond to customer and internal inquiries via phone, email, and internal communication platforms.

    • Resolve issues related to delays, missed appointments, damaged freight, missing product, and other shipment exceptions.

    • Review shipping, receiving, and transportation documentation for accuracy.

    • Maintain detailed notes and records related to loads, drivers, shipments, and customer accounts.

    • Work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, transportation operations, and customer service teams to resolve issues quickly.

    • Provide Dispatch or Track & Trace support depending on operational needs and workload.

    • Assist with daily reporting and other administrative or operational tasks as needed.

      Shift: ( ALL TIMES CST): Monday - Friday - 2200- 0700 CST

    Job requirements

    • 1+ years of experience in US logistics / transportation.

    • Hands-on experience in an asset-based trucking environment.

    • Previous experience dispatching company-owned trucks and managing drivers.

    • Strong understanding of dispatch operations, load management, and transportation workflows.

    • Experience with Track & Trace and shipment monitoring.

    • Ability to switch between Dispatch and Track & Trace responsibilities based on business needs.

    • Experience communicating with drivers, customers, warehouses, and other transportation stakeholders.

    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

    • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • Experience with TMS, transportation systems, or other logistics software.

    Ability to work independently and make operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience managing a fleet of company-owned assets/trucks.

    • Experience coordinating multiple drivers and loads simultaneously.

    • Familiarity with ELD/GPS tracking systems and transportation management systems.

    • Previous experience handling after-hours or time-sensitive transportation issues.

    • Experience in both asset-based and brokerage logistics environments.

    Key candidate profile: someone who is not just a broker/3PL dispatcher, but has actually managed company-owned trucks and drivers, while also being capable of stepping in for T&T and general operations support when required.
