Job description

We are looking for an experienced Ocean Freight Operations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing both import and export ocean freight operations while ensuring efficient shipment coordination and outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage both import and export ocean freight operations.

  • Ensure day-to-day operations are handled effectively and efficiently.

  • Handle ocean carrier bookings and review itineraries and logistics solutions proposed to clients.

  • Ensure timely follow-up in accordance with service levels and client requirements.

  • Coordinate customs clearance processes.

  • Handle DGR shipments in compliance with Dangerous Goods Regulations.

  • Coordinate the receipt, review, and processing of shipping documentation.

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.

  • Communicate and negotiate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure smooth shipment execution.

Job requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Ocean Freight Operations.

  • Fluency in French and English is mandatory. (Spanish is also applicable)

  • Spanish is a strong asset, as daily communication with the Latin American division may be required.

  • Hands-on experience with DGR shipments.

  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures.

  • Experience with FCL, LCL, and preferably Project Cargo shipments is an advantage.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working with TMS/Carwise is considered a plus.
