At this point, Zelh is looking for a Load Coverage Specialist who will focus on Drayage Operations for one of our clients.

The Load Coverage Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing carriers for drayage and intermodal freight in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role also ensures that all customer shipments are covered efficiently and in compliance with company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Actively engage with drayage and intermodal carriers to identify available capacity.

  2. Collect and document all available capacity from assigned carriers and update TMS accordingly.

  3. Negotiate rates and secure carriers for drayage and short-haul moves, ensuring profitable coverage.

  4. Strategically target carriers based on port, region, and equipment type (e.g. containers).

  5. Match available loads to the best carriers using TMS tools and data.

  6. Communicate load details, pickup and delivery instructions, and appointment times clearly to carriers.

  7. Serve as the main point of contact for assigned carriers, building and maintaining long-term relationships.

  8. Ensure all pickup and delivery paperwork (e.g., bills of lading, PODs) is received and processed promptly.

  9. Coordinate with dispatchers and drivers to track container arrivals, cut-off times, and port releases.

  10. Proactively resolve operational issues such as port delays, detention, or equipment shortages.

  11. Collaborate with internal teams to maintain service quality and ensure on-time performance.

Job requirements

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with carriers, internal teams, and customers over the phone and via email.

  • Upper-intermediate + English Level.

  • 0-2 years' proven experience working in a Carrier Sales role with drayage or a logistics similar role.

  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and logistics procedures

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics software.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
