Job description

Zelh is a fast-growing, passionate outsourcing company.

Our mission is to be the most reliable company by offering and maintaining high-quality services consistently.

We achieve the mission by fostering long-term relationships with customers, employees, and vendors. Personal attention, timely communication, and respect for all people are the basis of our business philosophy!

We're looking for a Carrier Sales Representative who knows how to build and maintain a winning carrier network. You won't be handed leads — you'll earn them. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced brokerage environment and treats every carrier relationship like it's their most important one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, qualify, and onboard new carrier partners across all modes to support active freight needs

  • Build a personal book of carrier relationships that grows with you year over year

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure capacity and competitive rates

  • Negotiate spot and contract rates to optimize margin while protecting service standards

  • Balance cost efficiency with service quality to meet customer expectations

  • Hold your ground in negotiations while maintaining carrier relationships

  • Monitor freight in transit and proactively solve service issues before they become problems

  • Collaborate with account managers and operations staff to match the right carrier to every load

  • Address carrier escalations and service failures quickly and effectively

  • Maintain accurate carrier data, compliance documentation, and load records in the TMS

  • Ensure carriers meet company standards for insurance, authority, and safety requirements

  • Keep detailed records of carrier performance, rates, and communications

  • Work closely with account managers and operations teams to ensure seamless load coverage

  • Thrive in a high-urgency, load-by-load environment without losing sight of the big picture

  • Contribute to team success through collaboration and knowledge sharing

Job requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or transportation operations (required)

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining carrier networks at volume

  • Strong negotiation skills — you know how to close deals and hold your ground

  • Relentless work ethic and performance-driven mindset

  • Proficiency with TMS platforms; experience with McLeod, Mercury Gate, or similar systems preferred

  • Ability to multitask and manage high volumes in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Self-motivated with a competitive drive to succeed

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think quickly under pressure

Working conditions:

  • Working schedule: Mon - Fri, 08:00 - 17:00 CST

  • Competitive Salary in USD

  • 10+ business days of paid time off

  • Team building and corporate events

  • Equipment provided

  • A supportive team

  • Remote eligibility
