At this point, Zelh is looking for a Carrier Sales Representative for our third-party logistics company with a proven ability to build and grow a network of carriers while maintaining strong relationships. The ideal candidate will excel at fostering partnerships, negotiating rates, and ensuring seamless coordination of shipments. This role emphasizes teamwork, where specialized tasks such as sourcing, booking, and tracking are managed collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrier Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing carriers, serving as the primary point of contact for ongoing coordination and communication.

    • Build and grow a base of reliable carriers without solely relying on load boards.

  • Rate Negotiation and Contract Management:

    • Negotiate rates, contracts, and terms with carriers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality service.

    • Maintain accurate records of carrier contracts, rates, and shipment details.

  • Shipment Coordination:

    • Coordinate the booking and dispatching of shipments, ensuring carrier capacity aligns with customer requirements and delivery deadlines.

    • Address and resolve any transportation-related challenges, such as delays, damages, or service failures.

  • Shipment Monitoring and Issue Resolution:

    • Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely pick-up, transit, and delivery.

    • Proactively communicate shipment statuses and updates to relevant stakeholders.

  • Collaboration and Teamwork:

    • Work as part of a specialized team, ensuring effective coordination with procurement, operations, warehousing, and customer service teams to meet client needs.

    • Provide regular updates on carrier performance and shipment metrics to internal teams.

  • Market Knowledge and Reporting:

    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements in transportation and logistics.

    • Generate reports on carrier performance, shipment statuses, and key metrics to support operational efficiency.

Key Characteristics of the Role:

  • Specialization: Work collaboratively with other teams dedicated to procurement, transportation, and warehousing to streamline operations.

  • Efficiency: Leverage specialization to maximize efficiency and expertise in carrier sales and logistics.

  • Coordination: Ensure effective communication across teams to maintain seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Job requirements

  • At least 1-2+ years of experience in the logistics domain, with a focus on the US market (required).

  • Upper-Intermediate English proficiency for effective communication with carriers and stakeholders (required).

  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills for carrier sales and coordination.

  • Procurement and carrier onboarding experience will be perfect

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other Software tools.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage both administrative and sales responsibilities.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Competitive, hard-working nature with a strong sense of urgency

  • Familiarity with logistics operations, transportation modes, and freight management is preferred.

  • Ability to work in a virtual environment and collaborate remotely with team members.

  • Working schedule: Mon - Fri 8 am – 5 pm PST
